Little can be describe from this art of photography but one hundred fold can be abstracted from such simple pictures. When it is said that little can be described it means that sometimes an abstract photograph may be simple and lacking an ornate quality, but that doesn’t matter. What matters is the idea and concepts behind the photograph. What matters is seeing the picture in its truest form, void of trivial empirical forms that are solely given to most pictures of other kinds of digital photography.

Photography Jobs: do you need an education

May 17, 2008 by normandybusiness

There is article on Freelance Digital Photography Jobs that distinguishes the types of jobs you can get with or without a college education. Although, jobs without a college education don’t seem to have that much longevity, there are still quite a few possibilities to consider. Most photographers probably should look into school at one point or another. Becoming a freelance photographer requires little to no education and you are able to work on your art at your own pace. If you are looking to learn all of the ins and outs of photography then furthering your education at a specialized school or program is the way to go, but if you want to have fun while gaining digital photography experience then trekking out on your own will be beneficial.

Misspelled Words

March 20, 2008 by normandybusiness

In stock photography regardless of the quality of your digital photos the only way they are going to be found is by proper keywords and categorization. Misused keywords and not properly studying a route to take your digital photography can result in lower profits and overall income. A new technique (depending on what you call new), is to misspell words on purpose to capitalize on the small market of people incorrectly spelling words. Although this in turn takes a lot of research one such market could make a small increase due to an unsaturated subject. I do not recommend this for beginners of the this business but it is something for veterans to look into.

Stock Photo Niche

February 29, 2008 by normandybusiness

Figuring out a theme for your stock photos can be a hard task, but it is something that has to be done. In order to make good profits through stock photography sales you need to have a niche to centralize your photos around. A niche can make it so you can dominate your niche with tons of photos and relative keywords and categorization. In order to grasp a niche for selling stock photos you need to do your research on stock photography sites and through pieces of media. First look through magazines and the internet and try to find themes based upon things you see. Think of tangible and intangible ideas related to the content you might see on webpages, advertisements and magazines.

With this gathered knowledge start entering these words into stock photography sites and see how many results come up. If there are too many, try making your words more precise. What you are attempting to do is create a niche that is a needed in the market but isn’t very competitive. Then drowned the relative topic with a series of photos, and create a monopoly based on your niche.

Stock Photo Editing

February 27, 2008 by normandybusiness

What kind of editing needs to be done before you can submit your stock photos to the public? Does it really matter if you stylize your photos to the artistic crowd? Editing and stylizing can be interpreted as two different things, because they centralize on selling to two different types of people or job. Adding complex filters or drastically altering a stock photos appearance is considered stylizing. On the other side fixing lighting, levels, colors and contrast or other simple adjustments is considered to be editing for a more professional look.

In photoshop or your photoshop-like program you are going to want to focus on the image options in the top navigational bar. Inside the adjustment options (depending on what program you have) you should see several different kinds of options. the ones you should focus on are the Contrast, Levels, Color Balance, Hue/Saturation and so on. Using the Levels tool will help you even out the volume of each color/shade in the picture. and create a overall darker or lighter tone for each individual shade in the picture. Contrast will develop a better sense of depth in a photo, showing a better difference between darks and lights. Color balance can alter the overall color presences, giving your picture a specific set of colors to overall follow. Finally Hue/Saturation, hue can pretty much do the same thing as color balance but it lack precision, the saturation tool and add or detract color levels in a photo. I suggest always adding a little bit of a saturation boost to make your pictures bright and professional.

As far as other kinds of editing involving filters and drastic changes check out Freelance Digital Photography and Photoshop Tutorials. It can be a good investment to make sure your digital photos look professional and properly edited. It just depends on your current stock photography strategy.
